Every wedding ceremony is sacred. When you add the unique nature of a wedding in lockdown, it makes the experience one of a kind. Such was the experience of Neha and Kashish.
When you walk into a wedding home, as wedding photographers, you expect to be hit with a wave of chaos and loud chatter all around. But at Neha’s house, there was utter silence. The only sound came from phone and video calls. Such was the uniqueness of a lockdown wedding. Neha began to get ready for her special day, while her best friend joined virtually to help her out. Her close friends and family made a video compilation of their blessings and loving words. Despite the lack of wedding guests, Neha felt loved and blessed on her special day.
With there being mainly virtual attendance, all the last minute arrangements were done by Neha’s parents. At a usual wedding, the presence of a photographer becomes lost among the chitter chatter. But at this lockdown wedding, being a part of the very selective wedding party made us feel special, one of the chosen few. And thus proceeded the wedding procession to the community centre where the momentous occasion took place.
Something that all experienced wedding photographers aim to capture. A sacred and special scene, shared by the couple and the two families. A moment when two individuals look at each other, and everything is the same yet different. The varmala ceremony was serenaded by Kashish’s mother, a song which she prepared herself for the special occasion. It was a beautiful experience to witness. The rituals were completed over a span of two hours. The happy couple had 80 of their friends and family join in virtually, with 15 being physically present. Neha and Kashish proved once again to the world that amidst covid restrictions and regulations, true love shall triumph.
The special occasion called for a special celebration. Although Neha’s father felt that booking a table just for 15 felt more like a compromise, the atmosphere said the exact opposite. Kashish’s cousins warmly welcomed Neha into their extended family. They did not, however, let the groom off the hook, constantly pulling his leg and spilling his most embarrassing secrets.The warmth and splendor of it all would be enough to fill anyone present with happiness and joy. It was a celebration of true love, proving to the world that it does conquer all. Neha and Kashish managed to conquer all, in the midst of a pandemic, and now they begin the rest of their lives with strength like no other.
